This year’s Java Networks (aka Literature Lunches) will follow a book club/literature circle format. In alignment with the conference theme, Expanding the Intellectual Contours of Social Studies Education in Troubling Times, I encourage Java Network leaders to consider critical texts beyond the social studies discipline that have the potential to shift our thinking, research, and practice as social studies educator-researchers. Java Networks will be held on Thursday, November 29th during lunch, at a location tbd by the Java Network leader. If you are interested in leading a Java Network literature lunch or simply want to sign up to join an established Java network (there are some good ones already!), use the CUFA 2018 Java Networks Google doc to indicate your book, name, email, and meeting place.stamped
